95% of South West Detention Centre workers reject new deal

Unionized workers at the new South West Detention Centre in Windsor overwhelmingly rejected a new collective agreement that had tentatively been reached between their union and the province.

Ninety-five per cent of OPSEU Local 135 members who cast ballots voted against the new deal, according to president Randy Simpraga.

“Our membership was proud to stand up to the government and say: ‘No, this is not good enough, get back to the table,'” he said.
