Groups band together to change ARC process

The fight to save their school may be over, but a local group that wanted OSCVI to remain a high school is now working so others across Ontario don’t have to experience what they did.
Save OSCVI representatives have joined others across the province in an attempt to lobby the Ontario government to put a moratorium on closing schools and give communities more of a voice during the accommodation review process.
“Our fight is over, and I think maybe the lessons we learned from that fight are what we are trying to pass on to other groups,” Save OSCVI member Judy Keeling said Thursday. “Perhaps they will have a better outcome.”
The Ontario Alliance Against School Closures currently has representatives from 12 different school groups across the province, including Barrie, Sarnia, St. Catharines, Kingston, Sudbury and Burlington.
