Some Etobicoke residents are joining the Keep Hydro Public coalition tomorrow to launch a new phase in the campaign to stop the Ontario government’s plan to privatize hydro.
A short rally will take place Saturday, June 11 at 10 a.m. at the Etobicoke Olympium, 590 Rathburn Rd.
Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne has said she is committed to her plan to sell 60 per cent of Hydro One in order to pay for transportation infrastructure.
Campaign organizers hope supporters join them in delivering leaflets door-to-door to central Etobicoke residents that urge Etobicoke Centre Liberal MPP Yvan Baker to speak out against privatization, which organizers say is his constituents’ position.
Baker said Friday he has not heard directly from the Keep Hydro Public coalition.
