Rally for Sudbury hospital laundry workers

Rally for Sudbury hospital laundry workersOn Wednesday, November 2, more than 100 people joined a rally at Sudbury MPP Glenn Thibeault’s office in support of 40 laid-off hospital laundry staff represented by CUPE 2841.  Health Sciences North has suggested it will be cheaper to ship its dirty linen to southern Ontario for cleaning, ignoring the impact of job cuts on the local economy and on quality of service.  The laundry workers continue to appeal directly to Mr. Thibeault to intervene.  Click here to listen to laundry worker and CUPE 2841 president Gisele Dawson speak with the CBC about how these job cuts will affect workers and the community.
