Renfrew County first responders, unions applaud new PTSD legislation

Post traumatic stress disorder or PTSD is a very real challenge for many of Ontario’s 73,000 first responders.

New legislation passed unanimously last week should make accessing services easier for first responders, who are twice as likely than the general public to suffer from PTSD.

On April 5, the province passed legislation that will create a presumption that PTSD diagnosed in first responders is work-related.
