Taxi drivers plan massive protest against UberX

Potentially thousands of cab drivers could refuse service and take to the streets Wednesday in a massive protest planned against UberX.

Sajid Mughal, president of the iTaxiWorkers Association , told the Star as many as 2,000 cab drivers may join in the all-day protest.

The plans call for drivers to refuse fares from 7:30 a.m. until 7 p.m.

There is also a co-ordinated procession planned, starting from four points across the city, that will converge on downtown and encircle city hall and Queen’s Park throughout the day.
