UQAM wins injunction to stop striking TAs

UQAM has won an injunction to stop teaching assistants and other striking workers from blocking access to the school’s buildings.

The union of student workers (SETUE) began a strike on Monday, and members have been very active in walking picket lines around the entrances to multiple buildings in the downtown Montreal campus.

Several classes were cancelled on Monday and Tuesday, and the university decided with the end of the semester approaching it could not lose any time to a workplace disruption.
